Morning traffic was already crawling along the mountain highway when something completely unexpected brought everything to a standstill.

People rolled down their windows, frustrated after sitting in traffic for nearly twenty minutes.
Up above, a massive bald eagle circled through the bright blue sky.

The bird swooped low over the highway…
And dropped a thick stick directly onto the pavement.

The eagle climbed back into the air.

Police officers arrived expecting to clear a simple obstruction.
